Until age 23, I was a poorly skilled "extreme athlete" which mostly meant I had a high tolerance for pain. But in the spring of 2001, as I finished my first year of graduate school, I made some very bad decisions on a motorcycle that I barely survived.
Until recently, telling much of this story caused me to have flashbacks, and I still cry when I hear parts today. However, I wanted to share my telling of it.
